Isshiki & Partners Bolsters IP Litigation Practice with Addition of Two Partners
We are pleased to announce that we have bolstered our IP litigation practice with the addition of two new partners: Yukio Nagasawa and Akira Irie.
Yukio is a former judge, and in his 20 years on the bench, he presided over 2,000 intellectual property cases across the Tokyo District Court, the Tokyo High Court and the Supreme Court. Yukio has been equally prolific in private practice, where he has been lead counsel in over 200 district court cases representing some of the world’s most innovative companies. Yukio’s practice spans all facets of IP disputes including patents, trademarks, copyright, trade secrets, unfair competition, as well as commercial disputes including antitrust. He is also a preeminent expert on appellate cases, having handled over 300 appeals to the IP High Court and 200 appeals to the Supreme Court.
Akira joins us from Morrison & Foerster where he was a partner in the IP litigation group. Akira is an internationally recognized lawyer who frequently represents clients in disputes before U.S. courts and international tribunals. Clients often call on him to help navigate technically challenging IP disputes spanning a wide range of technologies. He has experience across all facets of litigation, having managed litigations from pre-litigation counseling all the way through trial. He also handles adversarial patent license negotiations and commercial disputes.
Isshiki & Partners is a Tokyo-based law firm specializing in cross-border matters. Our team of attorneys, many of whom previously practiced at leading global law firms, excel at representing international clients in a broad array of litigation and corporate matters. We also collaborate closely with our affiliate Isshiki Patent & Trademark Firm on IP matters, allowing us to handle every phase of IP matters from their creation all the way through Supreme Court appeal.
